“I think many producers are, in some way, closet artists,” Ed attests.

They never could have imagined how, years later, God would bring their artist dreams full circle in the form of a family band. Though no longer pursuing careers as artists, both brothers continued to lead worship and remained involved in playing music at Young Life camps. After stepping off of the road to spend more time with his growing family, Scott began working with Ed writing and producing, and the brothers have written many songs together including “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)”. Instead, behind the scenes, Ed went on to become an award-winning songwriter and producer, steering records for artists like Chris Tomlin, Crowder and Bethel Music and co-writing timeless songs like “How Great Is Our God,”“Amen (Because He Lives)” and “All My Hope,” among other hits. However, when they each became fathers, the dream of being an artist was relegated to put on the back burner. Despite there being an eleven year age gap between them, as both Ed and Scott entered their teens and early 20s, they embarked on similar individual journeys as touring artists and had the opportunity to be deeply involved in the ministry of Young Life. Their dad played guitar, and their mom played piano, resulting in a home filled with music. Search for Audio Inputs and Advanced Routing. The multi-generational family band-consisting of brothers Ed Cash and Scott Cash, Ed’s daughter Franni, his son Martin and dear friend Andrew Bergthold-grew roots when the Cash brothers were just kids. It's slightly different if you bring the audio in outside the video input as an audio only device as you then have to say when to enable/disable it, but there's a good video on it from Renewed Vision. So under the Live / Capture Settings, select Routing for Audio and send ProPresenter channels 1,2,3,4 out the Left and Right for the live stream. Uncheck the boxes mapping ProPresenter 3 and 4 or the audio you just brought in above will end up going back out to the board causing echos and all kinds of nasty sounding things.įor the LiveStream, you want both your locally generated audio and the audio that came in from the board to go out. On the routing for that, you want to only send ProPresenter 1 and 2 (left rows) out to Line Output Device Channel 1 and 2. So set 'Main' device to Built-in Line Output. On the Audio tab, we send audio out to the board via just regular Line Out. If you don't see ProPresenter channels 3 and 4, go to the Audio tab and add a couple extra channels where it says channel count. Since playback internal to PP (such as playing a video) goes out channels 1 and 2, this keeps the inbound audio from the board from going back out to the board again. In the routing for that input, remap source channels 1 and 2 (left rows) to ProPresenter channels 3 and 4 (top column). Once it's into the Mac, on the inputs tab, I set the camera audio to Embedded. The ATEM we bring in via SDI through a BMD Mini Recorder. On the x32, we send all audio from the board, EXCEPT the computers own audio we send it (important), via XLR to the ATEM. Ping me via DM if you want a zoom demo sometime and I can show you how we have it setup.Ĭomponents: x32 mixer, BMD ATEM, BMD Mini Recorder, MacPro. Easily solved by re-routing the inbound audio. If you're bringing audio in from a mixer, and also sending audio out to the same mixer (for things like PP videos), you need to make sure your routing is setup properly or you'll get echos since by default, the audio coming in will get sent right back out. The biggest issue i ran into has to do with audio routing. Merging it all into PP7.2 solved all that and put things right back to just clicking on the next slide.

Managing two keyboards/mice and a button box just didn't make that easy.

Our volunteers were starting to get frustrated with the previous setup because timing and cues and everything else had to be just right or things just didn't come out looking professional. We've been streaming online for about 2 years using a PP+Wirecast solution, and I just moved it to PP7.2 only. ProPresenter 7.1+ has significantly improved our workflow and eliminated a ton of extra gear.
